The main objective of Applied Technical Math is to strengthen students’ proficiency in solving real world math problems. Students in this course will be introduced to the study and application of Fundamentals of Algebra I (MTH60) topics and applications of real numbers in work-related settings for occupations requiring career-technical training. This course is highly recommended for any students interested in Construction, Diesel Mechanics, Electronics, Manufactoring, and Welding at RCC.
Applied Technical Math is one of the College Now courses offered at Butte Falls, which means that 4 RCC credits can be earned by successfully completing this course. Credit is earned by maintaining an 80% or higher overall grade and earning an 80% or higher on the RCC Final Exam. Khan AcademyClick below to create a Khan Academy account. We will be using a website called IXL in our classroom throughout the year. IXL is a comprehensive math review site with an unlimited number of practice questions in hundreds of skills—all of which are aligned to state standards. One of the best things about IXL is that you can access it from school, home, and even on your smart phone. This site will give you the opportunity to practice the math we are learning in class as well as prepare for the Smarter Balanced Assessment that can be used to meet the Mathematics Essential Skills Graduation Requirements!
